About Sadashivan
Sadashivan Sanker is one of India's most experienced fashion and apparel retail practitioners, with over 30 years of leadership across the country's most iconic retail brands — Shoppers Stop, Globus, and Big Bazaar. His career spans the full arc of modern Indian retail, from the early days of organised fashion retail through the mass-market revolution and into the omnichannel era.
He is best known for introducing the Mix & Match format to Indian apparel retail in 1997 at Shoppers Stop — a merchandising and customer experience innovation that allowed shoppers to build coordinated outfits from separates across a store's range, rather than buying pre-packaged sets. This format fundamentally changed how Indian women engaged with ethnic fashion, increased basket sizes, and has since become standard practice across the industry.
He founded Studio Teertha over 20 years ago — a design think tank and product development studio that helps brands, manufacturers, and traders create strategic, market-relevant collections. As Creative Head at Disha Lifestyle, he transformed a family-run wholesale setup into a professionally structured organisation with 100+ employees, launched its Indo-Western line, and built KamiKubi — the company's online vertical now featured on major e-commerce platforms.
His advisory is particularly valuable for fashion and apparel brands navigating brand repositioning, retail format redesign, D2C launch, or the transition from a traditional textile or family business into a modern retail operation.
